Balls in Your Face put their defense on display on Saturday, allowing only 9 runs all day and shutting out 2 opponents. They breezed through the game with the exception of a quick bump in the preliminary round. The teams in the playoffs were no match. In the championship game, they put away We've Got the Runs early for the Softcore championship.

High Five ran through their division with ease early in the day. Their closest game was a 5 run victory and they also beat up on former champs B.I.G. T.A.B. by 9 runs. They faced a little more resistance in the playoff round though. They barely squeaked by against Drunk and Looking to Score before beating Taul Pall and advancing to the championship. In the championship they faced the better rested Pink Unicorns. The game was a back and forth contest going into the final inning. High Five kept putting runners on base, but the Unicorns kept making outs. With 2 outs and a runner on 3rd, High Five placed a kick in between the pitcher and first baseman that the runner was able to leg out, scoring the winning run from 3rd!

The 6th edition of the summer classic returns... and it's going to be a MONSTER! The 2011 Red Rubber Showdown is your ticket back to the halcyon days on the playground...grown-up style. Saturday, July 9th will be a full day on the diamond and at the bar with your peeps in honor of the game we all know and love from 3rd grade - Kickball! Coed teams of 15 (10 in the field) will converge on Seattle's gem little league complex at Lower Woodland, as well as Greenlake, University Playfield, and Ross Park to soak in the sun. During breaks the bar shuttles will ferry thirsty kickballers to and from the local watering holes for "refreshments." With 2 Divisions to choose from, The Red Rubber Showdown is for everyone: whether you are a team of crafty kickball league veterans, or you haven't played since you were 8!
